Clowning for personal development
Clown makes deep personal work playful and fun! Learn to suspend judgment and critical thinking, explore your relationship with your inner child, reconnect with the pleasure that leads to new emotional awareness, and recover hidden aspects of yourself that will enhance your life!
Stage Fright
Is it worth the fright? Have you ever gotten tongue-tied on a date, cold feet asking for a raise, sweaty hands with just the thought of speaking to a huge crowd, or found yourself hiding behind a book to avoid networking? You just might be experiencing Performance Anxiety. The good news is that you are hardly alone.
The clown and Gestalt
Experience the poetic intersection between therapy and clown as a pathway to personal development. Learn to free yourself from what blocks, distorts, and repeats itself without renewal, in order to redirect your awareness into the fluid and ever changing exchange between self and environment. Through play, experience aspects of the self that are often concealed and explore your insecurities, or the materials in the conscience that have been pushed to secret corners and out of sight.
The Fisher’s King
The tale of The Fisher King belongs to the story cycle surrounding The Grail and can be viewed as a tale signifying the natural cycle of male development from youthful bravado, to the wounding and hopefully through to the mature masculinity. Come and join us as we explore the themes of masculinity and masculine wounding through the lens of Gestalt Therapy.
This program, rather than reinforce your wishes to quickly get over it, will show you the benefits of recognizing the power of stage fright as a collective shared experience. In this experiential and creative workshop, expect to encounter the pessimism, obsessions, and unfounded beliefs that keep you stuck. You’ll overcome your fear of stepping into the spotlight. This workshop is part of the Art Series at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto.
